Accessibility statement
Last updated on September 19, 2026.
We want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use our website, The Same Taste (אותו הטעם), and its digital book equally, independently and comfortably. We follow Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013.
Accessibility level
The website and the digital book were made accessible according to Israeli Standard IS 5568, "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines", at level AA. The standard is based on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 of the W3C.
What this statement covers
The whole of the-sametaste.com: the home page, the purchase flow, the digital book that opens from the personal link sent after purchase, and the legal pages.
What we have done
- Clear structure: headings in order, marked regions and proper lists, so screen readers understand how each page is built. A "skip to purchase" link sits at the top of the home page.
- Full keyboard use: every link, button, window, the purchase form and cooking mode work with a keyboard, with a clear highlight on the element in focus. Windows close with the Esc key, and in cooking mode the arrow keys move between the steps.
- Screen readers: meaningful images have text alternatives, and buttons without words have labels. Decorative animations and images are hidden from screen readers so they do not get in the way.
- Nothing is conveyed by picture or movement alone: every demonstration of a cooking step comes with the full text of that step, and every number (calories, protein, quantities) is also written as text.
- The videos on the site have no sound and no speech, so they need no captions.
- Contrast: text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
- Reduced motion: if "Reduce motion" is turned on in your device settings, you get all the content and every action, with no animations and no videos playing on their own.
- Any screen size: the site adapts to phones, tablets and computers, and you can zoom in with your browser without losing content.
- Comfortable touch: large buttons, and every swipe action also has a button.
- Language and direction: pages are marked as Hebrew and right-to-left, so screen readers read them correctly. This statement is also available in Hebrew.
- The purchase form: every field has a label, an error message appears next to the field that needs fixing, and the focus moves to it.
The accessibility menu
The site has an accessibility menu by Enable. You can open it from any page and adjust the display to your needs, for example to enlarge the text, change the contrast or highlight links.
How we tested
The site was checked with an automated testing tool against WCAG 2.1 level AA, and by navigating with a keyboard only, in Chrome and Safari, on a computer and on a phone.
Known limitations
- The visual demonstrations of the cooking steps and the page-turning book on the home page are visual content. Everything they show is also written in the text beside them.
- The digital book works only with JavaScript turned on in the browser. The home page can be read without it.
- The payment page itself is run by the payment provider, which is responsible for its accessibility. If it is hard for you to pay there, contact us and we will complete the purchase together another way.
If you would like a recipe or part of the book in another format, for example as text by email, we will be happy to send it.
Physical service and events
The Same Taste operates online only. We have no office or service point open to the public and we hold no events, so there are no physical accessibility arrangements.
Exemptions
We have not requested or received any exemption or relief from accessibility obligations.
